This morning the sunrise shining on the shrub oaks made me think of the Edith Mitchill Prellwitz "Entrance to Peconic Bay". Edith and her husband Henry lived on the North Fork of Long Island on a bluff overlooking Peconic Bay. There is a great article about them both in the NY Times here.

More great reviews in the local papers about the opening of the new Parrish Museum. It is impossible to capture the feel of the place in a photograph. It is just too big.
Go and see for yourself.
