'Il Porcellino' in Sag Harbor

Artist Ben Fenske's show opened this past weekend at Grenning Gallery.  An extraordinary sculpture of a wild boar in the center of the gallery immediately commands the viewer's attention. 'Wild Boar' a collaboration between Fenske and Richard Zinon, a Florence based artist,  pays homage to the Mercato Nuovo landmark created by Pietro Tacca (1557-1640). The original 'Il Porcellino' (the Piglet) was commissioned by the Medici family for the Boboli gardens. What Hamptons nuovo Medici will acquire this recreation for their garden?

The creative process is documented by this time lapse video.
Fenske's paintings are filled with energy, light and movement.

Ben's work would look fabulous on condo walls across the street.
